Women are an integral part of our society, and the Women Build program celebrates the outstanding power they have to get together and actively contribute to transform the world.
In the Women Build program, known as “Les Bâtisseuses” in French, we learn, we share, we encourage.
To participate, you can choose a way that suits you:
- Choose an individual registration to join a team made up of women who will also have registered individually. You will each be asked to raise a minimum of $ 500.
- Choose a team registration with a group of friends, family or colleagues. You will each be asked to raise a minimum of $ 500 for the registration of a team of 8-10 participants.
- Choose a company registration if, as a company, you want to offer your employees and/or clients a day on a construction site. You will be asked to raise a minimum of $ 5,000 for a team of 8-10 participants. Do not hesitate to contact us to discuss the benefits of this team day for your colleagues, employees and/or customers.
Once registered and the fundraising goal has been achieved, each woman will spend a day on a Habitat for Humanity Quebec construction site (this year located in Montreal). This program is exclusively reserved for women, although sometimes the technicians and site supervisors may be men. All women builders will have the opportunity to acquire new skills, while helping low-income families in Quebec to realize their dream of homeownership.
Habitat for Humanity Quebec's objective is to welcome 150 women, each one of them to raise $ 500, and to lend a helping hand on the construction of houses for low-income families in Montreal.
The first Women Build in Canada took place in Waterloo, Ontario, in 2000. To date thousands of women have worked on Habitat construction sites across Canada. This year is the Seventh edition of Women Build in Quebec!
All participating women will work in teams of 8-10 women, led by a construction supervisor and accompanied by a construction Host, on a Habitat Quebec construction site in Montreal.
